How does it take to walk with someone or something? What becomes the benefits of walking with the person? Walking is the movement especially with the feet constantly. To walk with someone means you have knowledge or trust of and for the person. We will hardly walk with people our conscience predict evil of. And to maintain our walk with people we need to meet what they expect of us.
As individuals we have many people we walk with for instance our relatives, friends, colleagues to mention a few. You may walk with someone because you know the person. I doubt if you will really walk with someone you don't know well. That's it!
God seeks to walk with us and so to be with us. The question is, are we ready? Bible records that "and Enoch walked with God and he was not; for God took him" Genesis 5:24. This tells us to the extent to which we benefit walking with God. Before Enoch, were other names but he found favor in God's sight because he walked with Him. The question is what did he do that he didn't see death? He walked with God.
In Psalms, bible records that God made His ways and directives to Moses. This couldn't have happened if Moses had not walked with God. Consider the numerous people who also walked with God: Noah, David, Peter, Paul to mention a few.
We can walk closely with God by leaning on His word, the holy bible and executing the instructions thereof. We need to strive to constantly fellowship with the Holy Spirit for divine teaching and direction. Reading the bible, praying and fasting encourages and build upon our walk with God.
Nevertheless, our walk with God can break down when we yield to sin. Sin comes comes our way that our confidence in His word and Him will be exercised when we overcome sin.
Beloved, God needs you that's why He wants to walk with you.
